Lance Armstrong at Interbike in Las Vegas

Future Network USA has 2 internet magazines dedicated to bicycling, Bike Radar and Cycling News. They are at the forefront of everything news related to bicycles in general and at the annual Interbike Tradeshow which is held at the Sands Convention Center. The Sands is connected to the Venetian Hotel, formerly the Sands Hotel.

This year they wanted to add video interviews during the tradeshow to their website. We were ecstatic to fly out to Las Vegas and used 2 cameras to shoot 55 video interviews in 3 days. All of which were uploaded over night for viewers to download the next morning and keep up with the latest happenings at the show.

On day 2, we shot the Lance Armstrong press conference where Greg Lemond was in attendance. It was quite heated at times when Greg confronted Lance once again about Lance's involvement with Michele Ferrari, an Italian physician and sports trainer who has at various times admitted to practicing blood doping, advocated the controlled use of banned substance Erythropoietin by athletes, and accused by professional cyclists of providing banned substances.

The purpose of the press conference was for Lance to talk about his comeback from retirement and to promote LIVESTRONG for cancer survivors. Greg was asked to discontinue the subject of doping so that Lance could promote an important cause which he finally agreed to. Not quite that easily, but no chairs were thrown.
