New website for Jazz Recording Artist, Suede

3rd Light is designing a new web site for Jazz artist, Suede. We're excited to be working with Nova Brown who is a supadupa copywriter and really good friend. She's writing all of Suede's content for the site.

Suede's new website will have many new elements including video, audio clips of her music all on a new wider format.

The shell design has been completed and we're now on to designing each individual page. The process is an exciting one and the design is super sexy and luscious. Stay tuned for the launch date!

Shooting Jerry Rice

What can you say when you have the opportunity to shoot a sports celebrity? It was an honor and a priviledge to shoot Jerry Rice. It could have been "just another interview shoot," but with Jerry, who is a genuinely friendly and funny guy, it was a fun day out of the office.

Auditions with Sharon Gless

Friends from San Francisco's Z Space are producing a new play by Jane Prowse which was a book originally written by Jane Juska, starring Sharon Gless. It is the true story of one woman's fearless sexual liberation, A Round Heeled Woman.

The director and producers held several auditions for actors to read with Sharon Gless over a 4 month period and asked us to video tape those auditions in Berkeley and San Francisco. We were delighted to meet Sharon and help out Z Space.

The show ends February 7, 2010. Visit Z Space for more info and tickets to the show.

Lash Addiction Video

Lash Addiction wanted to create online tutorial videos for applying faux eye lashes, but they wanted a touch of modern pizzazz. We like pizzazz, so we were happy to work with them once again to create videos for both the strip lashes and the individual lashes. We shot a model as she applied the lashes in a step by step sequence, inserted voice over, motion graphics, animation, product shots, before and after photographs, and behind the scenes video footage of the photo shoot.

See the videos!

Directional Entertainment

We got a call from a production company down south who was going to be in the Bay Area and needed a crew to shoot a video for HIS client. Several corporate talking heads and some b-roll of their cool company car and then we handed over the footage on a hard drive and that was about it. Mark was great to work with and was extremely happy with our work. Long day, but we were well taken care of.

Demos for Wild Plant to be on Amazon

It was a full day of shooting toys. Wild Planet had boxes full of new products for us to shoot demonstration videos of. Luckily, the Wild Planet peeps are fun folks and the day went very quickly. From dinosaurs with interchangeable body parts to 007-style spy gear to toys that kids stomp on for points--where were these toys when we were kids? It's always a pleasure to work with these guys.

Big Sur Marathon

We were put up in a hotel that offered a free warm chocolate chip cookie at check-in. We hit the sack around 8pm and tried to conk out. Why? Because we had to get back up at 2 in the morning to shoot the Big Sur Marathon runners who needed an early start for their race.

A company named Colas Canada is largely responsible for paving the streets and highways of Canada. They have several branches in the US and every year they host a team-building type of event for 100 of their employees. This year's event was a relay race of 10 teams with 5 people each at the Big Sur Marathon. We were exhausted but had fun in Monterrey for the weekend.

Many thanks to Mark and Cheri of Conscious Creative for providing their assistance with this epic shoot. (blah)

Animation for new iPhone and iPod Touch game

We're fans of the iPhone and iPod Touch, so when 3D Joe asked us to help them put together a promo video for their new mobile title, Water Balloon Drop Hollywood, we were more than delighted.
